Phil McGovern - Executive Director
Phil has experience in managing non-profit business having worked for the YMCA in different parts of the country for the past 20 years. His soccer background is just as extensive having coached, directed leagues and served on boards for the development of soccer. Phil has a Bachelors degree in Health and Physical Education and a Masters degree in Human Services Administration. He also holds a ‘C’ Coaching License with the United States Soccer Federation (USSF, US Soccer) and an Advanced National Diploma with the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). Phil has coached and or managed all ages of soccer player; from under 4’s through college and adult teams; most recently the Lady Bison Soccer team of Cheyenne South High School and Cheyenne Soccer Club’s U12 Girls Black team.
Doug Mello - Technical Adviser
Doug is then Men’s Soccer Coach at Carroll College and Technical Advisor for HYSA.
Coach Mello has more than 40 years of coaching experience as a college coach, Director of Coaching and serves on the Olympic Development national staff. The Saints of Carroll College made it to the Cascade Conference Playoffs in just their second year of play and first year in conference.
Lindsey Gilstrap - Director of Competition Girls pre high school & Boys high school age
Lindsey is the Head Coach of the Capital HS Girls Soccer program.
Carl Straub - Director of Competition Boys pre high school & Girls high school age
Carl is the Head Coach of the Helena HS Boys Soccer program.
Jennifer Colegrove - Recreational Director
Jennifer Colegrove has been a involved with HYSA for the past 10 years watching her boys Cannon and Logan play some great soccer and meeting some lifelong friends. She became a certified referee seven years ago and continues to referee HYSA, Vigilante, and adult league games. She has also been the referee assignor for the HYSA recreational program for the past six years. As her boys head off to college, she wanted to stay involved, promoting the fun activity of soccer and hope that it can bring many more families the great experiences brought to her family. So, she is now the director of the recreational program and loving the opportunity to stay involved. She is also a registered dietitian at St. Peters Hospital where she has been happily employed for 15 years. Good food and great nutrition are a passion along with hiking, skiing, gardening, friends, family and faith. She hopes you all come out and play with us at HYSA!
