U14B, U16B Win at 3 Blind Refs; U16G Earn 2nd

The HYSA Arsenal U14 and U16 boys both came away with Championship medals from the 3 Blind Refs tournament over the weekend, hosted by the Flathead Force SC of Kalispell. Arsenal U16G also came away with some well-deserved hardware, losing in the championship of the top flight.

Diego Rivas’ (coached this weekend by Chris Reynolds and Mark Walker) also made a  strong statement, going 4-0 in group play to take the round-robin tournament. Their scores were:

1-0 vs. Nelson YS (Canada)
6-0 vs. Flathead Rapids
2-0 vs. KEYSA Rovers (Canada)
2-1 vs. Columbia Valley (Canada)

Cuyler Tonkovich’s U14B squad made a strong statement throughout the tournament, outscoring their opponents 26-0 in four games. Their results were:

6-0 vs. Creston Blitzz (Canada)
7-0 vs. Flathead Rapids
9-0 vs. Bozeman Blitzz White
4-0 vs. Polson (Championship game)

Bob Decker’s U16G fell in the championship game to a tough Flathead Rapids group, the same team that lost two close games against MYSA U18 Premier teams the weekend prior. Full results:
