If you are interested in this program, please contact our:

Academy Director Greg Bibeau  gregbibeau@gmail.com

Executive Director Phil McGovern  info@helenasoccer.org

Ages: U9*, U10, U11

Academy Soccer's main emphasis is on skill development: the personal technical soccer skills the player needs to advance in soccer.

The commitment level is higher than in the HYSL (recreational league); there is travel and players practice at least twice a week and play games against other clubs or extended sessions at home fields on Saturdays. Saturdays and Sundays if at a tournament.

*U9s; anyone wishing to register a U9-year-old should contact Phil at info@helenasoccer.org.

*Generally, U9s need to be in third grade, and have a birth date before June 30th of their birth year. U9s when their birth year reaches U10 per USYS they will remain as an U10.

Players do need to purchase a uniform separately from the program fee. Uniforms are usually updated every two years.

Academy teams will play a travel schedule and play in our local tournaments that are included in the program fees. Efforts are made to keep travel close to home for matches.

Arsenal is the most competitive level of program participation. For players and families, it is a lot of fun and also a significant time and financial commitment.

Teams compete in the MYSA (Montana Youth Soccer Association) League and participate in competitive tournaments around the western United States.

Arsenal teams have a history of success on and off the playing field and have represented  Helena proudly in numerous USYS Region IV Championship & President's Cup tournaments.

A registration link will be sent to those interested.  This registration page shows current program registration fees.

Fall 2024

IMPORTANT: For the Fall 2024 season, we are attempting to restructure the 5th-8th grade division by creating all girls' teams and all boys' teams. We need additional female players to make this happen. If we do not get the number of players needed, we will resume the 5th-8th coed teams.

Registration ends August 11. There is NO late registration, as this causes delays in team formation and delays our coaches getting started with practicing.

No refunds after August 25.

Helena Youth Soccer League (previously named Recreational) is intended to introduce young players to the basic principles of soccer while providing a fun environment to learn and an avenue for older players to continue playing without having to fully commit to competitive travel soccer with the Arsenal program.

Fun, Friends, and Fantastic soccer. Helena Youth Soccer League is our recreational league soccer for your kindergarten through 8th graders.

Ages: Kindergarten - 8th grade (U5 - U14)

Registration fee includes a Major League Soccer-type uniform jersey and socks. One uniform is provided per school year. Extras can be purchased from Play on Soccer. Black shorts (player purchase) are required to complete the uniform.

Practices can start as early as September 2.

The games are on Sunday afternoons and two Friday evenings.

Game dates are September 13, 15, 20, 22, 29, October 6, 20. (We skip October 13 due to our Sleeping Giant Tournament, which we encourage our HYSL teams to register for if they would like to).

HYSL teams are formed randomly in the Fall, with teams staying together into the Spring as best as can be managed with numbers of players. Players' schools are considered in team formation.

The game schedule is subject to change.
