Goalkeeper Training
Goalkeeper training is open to all HYSA Arsenal, Academy, and Recreational players looking for specialized, weekly coaching. These sessions take place throughout the season.
What to Bring:
Required: Goalkeeper gloves, shin guards, cleats
Recommended: Long-sleeved shirt or goalkeeper jersey for added protection
Goalkeeper Curriculum
Becoming a high-level goalkeeper is a challenging yet rewarding journey. The HYSA goalkeeper curriculum is designed to develop well-rounded goalkeepers by focusing on all aspects of the position.

Kicking, punting, and drop-kicking
Throwing and rolling
Shot-stopping techniques
Diving fundamentals
Handling high balls and corner kicks
Managing breakaways and through balls
Proper positioning and body alignment
Cutting down and closing off angles
Tactical
Effective distribution: When to throw, roll, or punt
Controlling the game’s tempo
Defending set pieces and organizing defenders
Adapting to different formations
